CMK Creation Process

Every one of our compressor mount kits are designed and manufactured at our HQ in Shrewsbury, UK. A lot goes into making each kit to maximise the quality, we’ll walk you through the entire process step by step:

  1. Data Acquisition
This first stage involves measuring the surface of the vehicle using a device with touch probe heads and a laser scanner. We make use of the fastest point collection system on the market which can capture up to 752,000 points per second. The data collected is exported into our CAD software.
  2. CAD Modelling
By using FEA (Finite Element Analysis), we subject our designs to the same conditions that would be experienced in the real world. Stress, strain, frequency and displacement are analysed for each part and assembly, this allows us to identify any areas prone to weakness and failure which ultimately improves the quality of the product.
  3. 3D Printing
Precise and functional prototypes are produced by our 3D printer which enables us to test and develop the product in the real world before production begins. Prototyping ultimately allows us to optimise our designs which streamlines workflow, bringing our innovative products to market faster.
  4. Pattern Tooling
At the foundry, pattern tools turn molten metal into shiny painted black cast whereby machine fixtures are created and ready for milling.
  5. Machining
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling is performed on vertical and horizontal machining centres using three and four axis and live tooling. Our three and four axis, pallets and custom made in-house fixtures can accommodate almost any configuration.
  6. Quality Inspection
Our CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is used to accurately check the shape of parts with extreme high attention to detail, it has the ability to measure to a 1000th of a millimetre.
  7. Final Test Fit
For the last time, the compressor mount kit is test fitted to the vehicle to ensure our product performs to the highest standards and our instructions are finalised using in-house designed drawings.
  8. Kit Production
The initial first full batch of compressor mount kits start production.
  9. Kit Assembly
All compressor mount kit components are picked and put together by our warehouse team, ready to be sent out.
